Kamila Konotop has emerged as the absolute champion at the 2026 European Weightlifting Championships held in Batumi, Georgia. She clinched victories in both the snatch and clean and jerk categories, leading the overall ranking with a total score of 221 kg.
The Ukrainian team entered the second day of the championships with three medals, including one silver and two bronze, all earned by Kateryna Malashchuk in the women’s 48 kg category. On the second day, Ukrainian athletes competed in the 58 kg weight class, represented by Konotop and Olha Ivzhenko.
Competition Highlights
- Konotop was the only athlete to achieve a snatch lift of 100 kg, surpassing her closest competitor, Noemi Filippazzo from Italy, by six kilograms.
- Ivzhenko, however, finished the snatch competition without a successful lift, failing in all three attempts at 97 kg and 98 kg.
- In the clean and jerk, both Ukrainian lifters recorded the top results of the competition. Konotop lifted 121 kg, while Ivzhenko managed 120 kg.
- With a total of 221 kg, Konotop secured the gold medal, outperforming her nearest rival, Grigoryan from Armenia, by 11 kg.

Ivzhenko’s performance in the clean and jerk earned her a silver medal in the continental championship, despite her unsuccessful attempts in the snatch.
This victory marks Konotop’s fourth time becoming the absolute champion of Europe, having previously secured this title in 2021, 2023, and 2024. Overall, Ukraine has achieved a total of seven medals at the 2026 European Weightlifting Championships.
