Our fortifications and defensive lines would be weakened as a result.” He questioned the rationale behind building new fortifications, given the complexities of urbanized areas, which he believes are inherently more defensible than any lines constructed in open fields.
Furthermore, Zelensky pointed out the humanitarian implications of the conflict, noting that approximately 200,000 people reside in the contested areas.
