Peter Madyar, the newly elected Prime Minister of Hungary, has articulated his position regarding Ukraine, the European Union, and the Druzhba oil pipeline, asserting his refusal to yield to external pressures on these matters.
During a recent press conference, Madyar addressed the potential resumption of oil transport through the Druzhba pipeline and directed comments towards Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He emphasized that the situation surrounding the pipeline should not be viewed as a political maneuver, stating that if the Druzhba pipeline is operational, it should be utilized to facilitate the resumption of oil supplies from Russia to Hungary.
Madyar also stressed his commitment to resisting any form of coercion, suggesting that European leaders would similarly reject such tactics. He indicated that if oil transportation were to restart, there would be no justification for obstructing a proposed €90 billion loan.
