Ukrainian Special Operations Target Russian Naval Assets in Crimea

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has reported a significant operation conducted by its Alpha Special Operations Center in occupied Crimea. This operation resulted in the targeting of three Russian military vessels, including the large landing ships “Yamal” and “Azov,” along with another unidentified military ship.

In addition to the naval strikes, the SBU stated that a counter-diversionary boat of project 21980, known as “Hrachonok,” was also hit. Drones deployed by the Alpha unit damaged the antenna block of the “Delfin” communication system, the MR-10M1 radar system “Mys-M1,” and fuel tanks at the “Yugtorsan” oil depot.

This operation follows reports of a fire at the oil depot in Sevastopol’s Kozacha Bay, which was confirmed by occupying forces on the night of April 18.

The SBU emphasized that each strike against enemy assets diminishes Russia’s capacity to conduct warfare against Ukraine. They stated, “The SBU systematically and consistently dismantles the enemy along the entire front line, including in temporarily occupied Crimea. Our forces reduce the combat readiness of the fleet, deliberately disrupt logistics, and prevent the enemy from fully utilizing the peninsula as a military base. Each strike on ships and critical infrastructure has a cumulative effect and directly impacts Russia’s ability to wage war. This effort will not cease; the intensity and depth of SBU operations will only increase until the enemy loses the capacity to operate on Ukrainian territory.”

The SBU's Alpha unit successfully targeted multiple Russian naval assets in Crimea, including significant damage to military vessels and infrastructure. This operation aims to weaken Russia's military capabilities in the region.
