From the morning of April 15 to April 16, Ukrainian air defense successfully shot down 31 missiles and 636 drones launched by Russian forces during a series of attacks across the country.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that these assaults included two waves of combined strikes, utilizing ground-based and aerial missiles as well as combat drones. In total, air defense forces detected 703 aerial targets, which included:
- 19 ballistic missiles of the “Iskander-M/S-400” type;
- 20 cruise missiles of the “X-101” type;
- Five cruise missiles of the “Iskander-K” type;
- 659 drones, including types such as “Shahed,” “Herbera,” “Italmas,” and others.
By 07:30, the Ukrainian defense forces had either shot down or suppressed 667 of these targets, comprising:
- 19 cruise missiles of the “X-101” type;
- Eight ballistic missiles of the “Iskander-M/S-400” type;
- Four cruise missiles of the “Iskander-K” type;
- 636 drones, including various models such as “Shahed,” “Herbera,” and “Italmas.”
The Air Force also noted that the attacks resulted in 12 missiles and 20 combat drones hitting 26 locations, with debris falling in 25 areas.
“Information regarding one cruise missile is being clarified. The attack continues, with several enemy drones in the air,” the report stated.
Ukrainian air defense forces reported significant success in intercepting a large number of missiles and drones during recent Russian attacks. The operations involved multiple waves of strikes, highlighting ongoing hostilities in the region.
