Péter Madyar, leader of the opposition party ‘Tisa’, has declared victory in Hungary’s parliamentary elections, emphasizing the country’s renewed position within Europe. He announced plans to deepen cooperation with European Union nations, particularly the Visegrád Group, during his victory speech.

In his address to supporters following the preliminary results, Madyar stated, “Hungarians! We did it! ‘Tisa’ and Hungary have won these elections. Not by a small margin, but by a significant one. Together we have replaced the Orbán regime, together we have liberated Hungary. Our victory is visible not only from the Moon but from every Hungarian window.”

He expressed gratitude to voters, highlighting that the turnout was unprecedented in Hungary’s democratic history, with ‘Tisa’ receiving a strong mandate. Madyar asserted that Hungary would no longer be a country without consequences, insisting that those who have harmed the nation and incited hatred among its citizens must be held accountable.

Furthermore, he pledged to reform the judicial system and establish a National Asset Recovery Agency staffed by the country’s top investigators and legal experts. He indicated that his first official visit as Prime Minister would be to Poland.

“My second trip will be to Vienna, and the third to Brussels, to reclaim EU funds owed to the Hungarian people,” he added.
