Ukrainian President Congratulates TISZA Party on Election Victory in Hungary

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has extended his congratulations to Peter Madyar and his TISZA party following their significant win in Hungary’s parliamentary elections.

In a message posted on X, Zelensky expressed his support, stating, “I congratulate Peter Madyar and the TISZA party on their convincing victory. It is crucial when a constructive approach prevails. Ukraine has always sought good neighborly relations with all in Europe, and we are ready to enhance cooperation with Hungary.”

The President emphasized Ukraine’s readiness for meetings and collaborative efforts aimed at benefiting both nations and fostering peace, security, and stability in Europe.

The parliamentary elections in Hungary took place on April 12. While the vote counting is still ongoing, preliminary results indicate that the opposition TISZA party, led by Madyar, is poised to secure a constitutional majority in parliament, with over 90% of votes processed showing them winning 138 out of 199 seats.

Hungary’s current Prime Minister Viktor Orban, leader of the Fidesz party, has acknowledged his defeat and congratulated Madyar on his victory.
