Two police officers, Ihor Lysytsyn and Ihor Radzyminskyi, lost their lives due to Russian shelling in the Donetsk region on April 11, as reported by the National Police of Ukraine.
Before the full-scale invasion, Lysytsyn and Radzyminskyi served in the patrol police unit in Kharkiv. Lysytsyn held the position of unit commander, while Radzyminskyi served as an inspector. In 2022, both officers enlisted to serve at the front and subsequently became artillerymen in the ‘Khyzhak’ brigade, according to police statements.
Major Ihor Lysytsyn was the commander of the artillery unit within the ‘Khyzhak’ brigade. He is survived by his mother, wife, and son.
Captain Ihor Radzyminskyi served as the senior officer of the artillery battery. He is survived by his mother and father, as well as his wife and a son who was born in April of last year.
The National Police of Ukraine confirmed the deaths of the officers on their official Facebook page, noting the tragic circumstances surrounding their loss.
