Ukrainian President Reports on Military Operations and Diplomatic Efforts

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently convened a meeting to discuss the current state of military operations, receiving updates from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, and Chief of the General Staff, Andrii Hnatov.

During the briefing, Zelensky highlighted the focus on the Olexandrivka and Pokrovske directions, where he noted that the Russian military has concentrated its efforts. This area has become a focal point for both Russian advances and Ukrainian defenses.

The president expressed gratitude towards Ukrainian units for their “significant results” in targeting Russian forces. He emphasized the importance of ongoing military actions and their implications for Ukraine’s strategic position.

Zelensky also addressed the impact of Ukrainian diplomatic strikes, noting that long-range sanctions are beginning to affect Russian revenues, particularly in the oil sector. He stated, “This is felt in both the northeastern and southeastern directions of active long-range operations.”

Additionally, the president confirmed that he and military leadership have approved further steps to enhance Ukraine’s defense capabilities. He asserted that strong military positions should bolster Ukraine’s diplomatic efforts and relations with international partners.

“This is how it is happening. Ukraine is defending itself and demonstrating its ability to enhance the security of others,” he concluded.

In related developments, reports indicated that following a series of attacks, Russian oil ports in Ust-Luga and Koivisto on the Baltic Sea have nearly halted cargo processing. According to Finnish maritime authorities, shipments have plummeted from 40-50 vessels per week to just one.

On April 5, Ukrainian drones targeted Nizhny Novgorod, resulting in three waves of drone activity, over 20 explosions, and widespread power outages in several areas.

Moreover, on April 2, a drone strike hit the Novoufimsky refinery operated by Rosneft, leading to a fire and the shutdown of the CDU-5 unit, which accounts for 28% of the facility’s total capacity.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky provided updates on military operations and diplomatic efforts, emphasizing the impact of sanctions on Russia's oil revenues. Recent drone strikes by Ukraine have targeted key Russian infrastructure, reflecting ongoing tensions in the region.
