Russian Forces Target Dnipropetrovsk Region with Artillery and Drones

On April 5, Russian military forces launched a series of attacks on two districts in the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine, employing artillery and drones, according to regional military administration head Oleksandr Hanzha.

During the day, the attacks reportedly occurred nearly 50 times, resulting in one fatality and one injury. The affected areas include Nikopol, Marhanets, Chervonohryhorivka, and Pokrovsk. Damage was reported to a kindergarten, residential buildings, a gas station, a business, a fire station, and several vehicles.

Hanzha confirmed that the deceased was a 61-year-old man, while a 60-year-old woman sustained injuries.

Russian forces have consistently targeted Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure using various types of weaponry, including strike drones, missiles, and multiple launch rocket systems.

Ukrainian authorities and international organizations classify these attacks as war crimes, emphasizing their deliberate nature. They argue that the bombardments on essential services and healthcare facilities aim to deprive civilians of electricity, heating, water supply, communication, and medical assistance, which they characterize as genocidal actions.

In contrast, Russian leadership denies that its military conducts targeted strikes on civilian infrastructure, asserting that it does not intentionally harm non-combatants or destroy hospitals, schools, kindergartens, and facilities related to energy and water supply.

Russian military operations on April 5 resulted in civilian casualties and significant damage to infrastructure in Dnipropetrovsk. Ukrainian officials label these actions as war crimes, while Russia refutes claims of targeting civilians.
