On April 2, Russian forces launched drone strikes targeting Kharkiv, Ukraine, with one of the drones reportedly striking a residential high-rise in the city center.
According to Oleg Synegubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, the drone directly hit a building in the Kyiv district. As of now, a fire has erupted on the second and third floors of the structure.
Emergency responders are actively working at the site of the impact to manage the situation and extinguish the flames.
In addition, police and State Emergency Service units are conducting door-to-door checks to quickly identify residents who may require assistance.
Synegubov confirmed that two individuals have been injured: a 61-year-old woman and a 52-year-old woman, both suffering from blast injuries and receiving necessary medical care.
As of 3:57 PM local time, hostile drones continue to be detected in the airspace over Kharkiv.
