Trump Expected to Announce End of Conflict with Iran

U.S. President Donald Trump is anticipated to declare the conclusion of hostilities with Iran in an upcoming address to the nation, framing it as an American victory.

According to six unnamed sources, Trump has already indicated his intentions to announce the end of the war through interviews and social media posts, effectively laying the groundwork for his speech.

Reports from Politico suggest that Trump aims to shift the responsibility for the security of the Strait of Hormuz onto NATO allies.

Steve Bannon, former chief strategist in the Trump administration, stated that the president will outline his achievements in Iran and his plans as the conflict draws to a close.

Journalists note that this decision may be an effort by Trump to reassure both voters and Wall Street, who are concerned about energy markets and the implications of a potential closure of the Strait.

One source commented, “This is a significant challenge for President Trump, as this is not his natural environment. The speech should not be confrontational; it needs to be calming and very direct, as he is addressing not only Americans but also Iranians, regional allies, and European partners.”

On the same day, April 1, Trump announced that Iran had requested a ceasefire from the United States.

Unnamed U.S. officials informed Axios that discussions between the U.S. and Iran regarding a ceasefire are ongoing, contingent on Tehran’s agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

In response to these rumors, Iranian officials denied making any requests for a ceasefire.

Additionally, Trump mentioned that U.S. operations against Iran could continue for another “two to three weeks.”

President Trump is set to announce the end of the conflict with Iran, a move seen as a strategy to reassure voters and financial markets. While discussions about a ceasefire are ongoing, Iranian officials have denied making such requests.
