On March 31, Ukraine is not expected to implement scheduled power outages, according to the national energy company, Ukrenergo.
“Tomorrow, on Tuesday, no consumption restriction measures are planned,” the company stated.
Ukrenergo urged citizens to limit the use of high-power electrical appliances during peak evening hours, specifically from 6 PM to 10 PM.
Earlier reports suggested that power outages might occur due to rainfall and the planned maintenance of two nuclear power units. However, these concerns have not materialized into scheduled cuts.
The electricity situation in Ukraine remains precarious following a series of Russian strikes targeting energy infrastructure. A temporary easing of restrictions has coincided with warmer weather, as the demand for high-power appliances, such as heaters, has decreased.
The level of electricity generation has significantly dropped due to the impact of these Russian attacks. According to Alexander Kharchenko, director of the Energy Research Center, there is a possibility that scheduled outages could cease by May or June. However, he cautioned that restrictions might be reinstated during the peak consumption months of July and August.
Ukraine's national energy company has announced no planned power outages for March 31, urging citizens to conserve energy during peak hours. The situation remains challenging due to previous attacks on energy infrastructure, although warmer weather has reduced demand.
