Recent airstrikes by Russian forces have struck the Hlukhiv community in Ukraine’s Sumy region, targeting residential areas and resulting in civilian casualties. The attacks have raised concerns about the ongoing impact of military actions on non-combatants.
According to local officials, the strikes involved guided aerial bombs aimed specifically at civilian infrastructure. “The enemy targeted the residential sector with precision,” stated a representative, highlighting the nature of the assault.
Among the injured is a six-year-old girl, who, along with others, was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Reports indicate that a 50-year-old man is in serious condition and receiving necessary medical care.
The regional prosecutor’s office reported that the attack occurred on March 30, 2026, around 4:00 PM, when two guided bombs were dropped on a dormitory associated with an educational institution in Hlukhiv.
In total, nine individuals sought medical assistance following the airstrike, including the young girl, who is currently not in life-threatening condition. The ongoing assaults on civilian infrastructure have drawn international scrutiny, as they appear to be part of a broader pattern of attacks.
In a related incident on March 29, Russian forces targeted Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region, resulting in three fatalities, including a 13-year-old child, and seven additional injuries. This attack is one of many that have consistently affected the frontline city.
Additionally, on March 28, Russian forces continued their bombardment of a gas extraction facility operated by Naftogaz in Poltava, leading to the death of an employee. This marks the second worker fatality at the site within a week, as the facility was forced to halt operations following repeated strikes.
Recent airstrikes in Ukraine's Sumy region have resulted in civilian injuries, including a child. The attacks highlight the ongoing targeting of civilian infrastructure amid the conflict.
