Fire Extinguished at Warehouse in Kyiv Region, No Casualties Reported

On Sunday evening, March 22, emergency responders successfully extinguished a fire at a warehouse in the Kyiv region, according to the State Emergency Service (SES).

The fire, which affected an area of 5,500 square meters, was reported to be under control by 6:40 PM. Additionally, a grass fire on the surrounding land, covering approximately one hectare, was also extinguished.

No fatalities were reported as a result of the incident; however, one individual sought medical assistance. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Earlier in the day, a fire broke out at the warehouse located in the village of Pohreby, prompting the SES to clarify misinformation circulating online regarding a large-scale fire in Kyiv itself. They emphasized that firefighting efforts were focused on the warehouse in the Kyiv region, with both firefighting equipment and personnel from the capital deployed to the scene.

The Kyiv City Administration later issued a statement indicating that residents in the Desnyanskyi, Dniprovskyi, Obolonskyi, and Podilskyi districts might experience smoke due to the fire. They advised residents in these areas to close windows and limit outdoor activities until air quality improves.

According to SES spokesperson Victoria Ruban, the fire was contained without any injuries or fatalities, and it was unrelated to any alarm-related incidents.

A fire at a warehouse in the Kyiv region was extinguished on March 22, with no casualties reported. Emergency services are investigating the cause while advising nearby residents on air quality precautions.
