Former Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller Passes Away at 81

Robert Mueller, the former special prosecutor who led the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, has died at the age of 81. His family announced that he passed away on Friday evening, requesting privacy during this time.

In response to the news, former President Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, expressing his feelings about Mueller’s death. Trump stated, “Good, I’m glad he’s dead,” adding that Mueller could no longer harm innocent people.

Mueller served as the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 2001 to 2013. In 2017, he was appointed as special counsel to investigate potential Russian interference in the election that resulted in Trump’s victory.

His investigation concluded in 2019, finding that Russia had indeed attempted to influence the electoral process in favor of Trump’s campaign. Throughout the investigation, both Mueller and the inquiry faced significant criticism from Trump, who referred to it as a “witch hunt” and a “hoax.”

Robert Mueller, known for his role in the investigation of Russian election interference, has died at 81. His passing has prompted varied reactions, including a controversial statement from former President Trump.
