On Saturday evening, Iran executed ballistic missile strikes targeting the southern Israeli city of Dimona, known for its nuclear facility, and the nearby city of Arad, resulting in approximately 100 injuries.
Reports indicate that over 30 individuals were injured in Dimona, including a 12-year-old boy who sustained serious injuries. The Israeli emergency service, Magen David Adom, confirmed that 64 people were injured in Arad, with seven in critical condition, 15 moderately injured, and 42 sustaining minor injuries.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) urged for maximum military restraint following the missile attack on Dimona, although it reported no increase in radiation levels. The IAEA stated, “We have information regarding reports of the incident in Dimona, Israel, related to the missile strike, and have not received any evidence of damage to the Negev nuclear research center. Information from regional states indicates that no abnormal radiation levels have been detected.”
The incident marks a significant escalation in tensions between Iran and Israel, reflecting ongoing geopolitical conflicts in the region.
Iran's missile strikes on Dimona and Arad have resulted in numerous injuries, prompting international calls for restraint. The IAEA reported no radiation increase, indicating that the nuclear facility remains unaffected.
