Ukrainian Drones Target Industrial Zone in Nevinnomyssk, Russia

In the early hours of March 19, Ukrainian drones launched an attack on the industrial area of Nevinnomyssk, according to Vladimir Vladimirov, the governor of the Stavropol Krai in Russia. The official reported that several drones were shot down during the assault.

This incident marks the sixth attack on facilities in the Nevinnomyssk region within the past year. The previous strike targeted the Azot plant just days earlier, on March 13. The Ukrainian General Staff has confirmed these attacks, indicating that the Nevinnomyssk chemical plant is a significant producer of essential components for explosives, ammunition, and rocket fuel.

The Azot plant, part of the EuroChem group, is recognized as one of the largest manufacturers of mineral fertilizers globally. A 2024 analysis by Reuters revealed that the facility had shipped at least 38,000 tons of acetic acid to Sverdlov during the ongoing conflict, a substance crucial for the production of explosives at local enterprises.

Ukrainian drones have struck the industrial zone in Nevinnomyssk, marking the sixth attack in a year. The Azot plant, a key supplier of materials for explosives, has been targeted multiple times, raising concerns over its role in the ongoing conflict.
