Ukraine Imposes Sanctions on Russian and Iranian Entities Linked to Military Production

On March 10, President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine enacted decrees No. 243/2026 and No. 244/2026, implementing sanctions against individuals and companies from Russia and Iran involved in supporting Russian military production. The sanctions also target Paralympians accused of promoting propaganda and participating in the war against Ukraine.

The sanctions list includes 130 individuals and 48 legal entities associated with the Russian military-industrial complex (MIC). Among those sanctioned are companies linked to the supply of components for the “Kometa” series satellite navigation equipment and enterprises involved in the production of the “Oreshnik” missile system.

Additionally, the measures extend to Iranian companies and citizens involved in the manufacturing of drones and missiles used not only against Ukraine but also in conflicts across the Middle East. The Ukrainian Office of the President emphasized that these entities have aided Russia in launching, deploying, and scaling the production of Shahed drones within Russian territory.

Sanctions have also been imposed on Iranian instructors who have trained Russian drone operators for attacks on Ukrainian cities and energy infrastructure.

“The Russian and Iranian military-industrial complexes have long been interconnected. This sanctions package highlights key players involved in the production of weaponry used in attacks by Russia against Ukraine and by Iran against various countries. The world must do significantly more to sever these supply chains, particularly for critical components, and effectively counter this collaboration. We will work on synchronizing these sanctions,” stated Vladislav Vlasuk, the President’s Advisor on Sanctions Policy.

Another aspect of the sanctions targets ten Russian Paralympians who have participated in the war against Ukraine, disseminated Russian propaganda, and utilized sports events to obscure Russian crimes and occupation.

Ukraine has enacted sanctions against Russian and Iranian entities linked to military production, including individuals involved in propaganda and war efforts. The sanctions aim to disrupt supply chains supporting military operations against Ukraine.
