Russian Drone Strike Hits Library in Northern Ukraine City

In the early hours of March 13, Russian drones targeted the central area of Novhorod-Siverskyi in the Chernihiv region, striking a historic building that housed the city library.

According to Oleksandr Selivertsev, the head of the Novhorod-Siverskyi District Military Administration, the attack resulted in significant damage to the library, which was a center for knowledge and community. He noted that while the city was asleep, the drones destroyed books and impacted peaceful infrastructure.

In addition to the library, nearby residential buildings and administrative structures also sustained damage during the strike. The extent of the destruction and details regarding any casualties are currently being clarified.

This incident follows a previous attack on March 12, when Russian forces targeted the Men’sk community in the Chernihiv region, resulting in the death of a 15-year-old girl and injuries to her parents.

A recent drone strike in Novhorod-Siverskyi damaged a historic library and nearby buildings, highlighting ongoing conflict in the region. Casualty details are still being determined.
