This week, residents of Ukraine can expect pleasant and warm weather, although temperatures may not reach their peak just yet. According to Natalia Ptukha, a meteorologist from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, the country will experience stable weather conditions dominated by an anticyclone.
Ptukha explained that the weather will primarily be clear or partly cloudy, with sunny days expected during the daytime and clearer skies at night. “Temperatures will remain quite stable throughout the week,” she noted.
During the night, most regions will see temperatures around +5°C, while some areas may drop to as low as -2°C due to clear nights and the influence of spring air masses.
By day, temperatures are projected to rise to +10°C, with some areas reaching as high as +17°C. However, the Carpathians and northeastern regions, including Chernihiv and Sumy, will experience slightly cooler conditions, ranging from +6°C to +11°C.
Potential Changes in Weather Patterns
According to Ptukha, significant changes in the weather are not anticipated until around March 14. The forecast indicates dry conditions with similar temperature ranges throughout the week.
“On the 14th, daytime temperatures might drop slightly by 2 to 3 degrees. A low-pressure system will begin to develop over Europe, which may lead to increased cloudiness and some atmospheric fronts, particularly in the western and southwestern regions,” she added.
As a result, temperatures next week could be a few degrees lower due to less clear skies and the influence of a strong anticyclone during the day.
Signs of Spring in Ukraine
Igor Kibalchich, another meteorologist, has indicated that Ukraine is on the verge of experiencing a true sunny spring, marking the beginning of the growing season for many plants. He noted that the country is expected to see dry and warm weather, with daytime temperatures climbing close to 20 degrees Celsius.
