Russian military forces have launched a series of drone attacks on gas production facilities operated by Naftogaz in the Poltava region, marking the second consecutive day of assaults. The company reported significant disruptions to critical infrastructure due to these strikes.
Naftogaz confirmed that operations at several vital sites have been halted as a result of the attacks, which have caused damage and losses, although no injuries have been reported. The company is actively assessing the extent of the damage.
Serhiy Koretsky, the head of Naftogaz, stated, “Our specialists are working alongside emergency services to manage the aftermath of these attacks. We are currently evaluating the damage sustained across our facilities.” This incident is part of a broader pattern, as Naftogaz has consistently reported on the impacts of Russian military actions on its operations.
On February 12, Koretsky also reported similar attacks affecting the Kherson thermal power plant, highlighting the ongoing threat to Ukraine’s energy infrastructure amid the conflict.
