Ukrainian Athletes Set for Second Day of Competition at the 2026 Paralympics

The second day of the 2026 Paralympics is set to feature 23 Ukrainian athletes competing across various events on Sunday, March 8. This day will see competitions in three sports, with Ukrainian participants in two of them.

The same athletes who opened the Paralympics for Ukraine will be in action again, competing in five of the six biathlon events and in snowboarding cross.

Among those competing in biathlon are gold medalists Oleksandr Kazik, Taras Rad, and Oleksandra Kononova, who will participate in individual races on this day.

Schedule of Ukrainian Competitors for March 8, 2026:

  • 11:30 AM. Biathlon. Men’s Individual Race, Sitting Class (Hryhoriy Shymko, Pavlo Bal, Oleksandr Aleksyk, Vasyl Kravchuk, Taras Rad)
  • 12:00 PM. Para Snowboarding. Snowboard Cross, Men’s SB-UL Class (Vladyslav Khilchenko)
  • 1:10 PM. Biathlon. Women’s Individual Race, Standing Class (Lyudmyla Liashenko, Bohdana Konashuk, Oleksandra Kononova, Iryna Bui)
  • 1:30 PM. Biathlon. Men’s Individual Race, Standing Class (Serafym Drahun, Hryhoriy Vovchynskyi, Dmytro Sereda, Serhiy Romaniuk)
  • 2:15 PM. Biathlon. Women’s Individual Race, Visually Impaired (Romana Lobasheva, Ilona Kazik, Oleksandra Danilenko, Oksana Shyshkova)
  • 3:00 PM. Biathlon. Men’s Individual Race, Visually Impaired (Dmytro Suyarko, Maksym Murashkovskyi, Yaroslav Reshetynskyi, Anatoliy Kovalevskyi, Oleksandr Kazik)
