Trump Denies Russian Support for Iran Amid U.S.-Israel Operations

During a recent press briefing aboard Air Force One, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he has seen no evidence suggesting that Russia is assisting Iran amid ongoing military operations by the U.S. and Israel. His comments came in response to inquiries about potential Russian support for Iran.

“No, I have no basis for that. If they (the Russians) are helping, they are doing it poorly, as Iran is not doing very well right now,” Trump remarked.

On March 7, Trump had previously avoided answering questions regarding allegations that Russia was providing intelligence to Iran to counter U.S.-Israeli operations.

Military Operations Against Iran

On February 28, Israeli forces launched an attack on Tehran, prompting Trump to announce the initiation of a significant military campaign aimed at eliminating threats posed by the Iranian regime. He accused Iranian authorities of supporting militant groups in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Palestine.

According to Trump, the objectives of the military operations include dismantling Iran’s missile industry and naval capabilities to prevent global destabilization.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for launching missiles and drones toward Israel and attacking U.S. military bases in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

In response to the escalating situation, French President Emmanuel Macron called for an urgent meeting of the United Nations Security Council.

The European Union reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring regional security and stability in the Middle East.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed support for giving Iranians a chance to rid themselves of what he termed a “terrorist regime” to ensure safety for all nations affected by Iranian attacks.

On February 28, Trump claimed that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was dead, a statement later confirmed by the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

The IRGC announced on March 1 the launch of what it described as the most destructive offensive operation in Iran’s history against Israel and U.S. military bases. Trump urged the Iranian regime to abandon its plans and threatened a “very strong response” if they did not.

On March 2, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio indicated that the next phase of military operations against Iran would be even more devastating.

Reports from Iran International on March 3 indicated that the Assembly of Experts had selected a new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the deceased Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

On March 6, Trump emphasized the need for a complete change in Iran’s leadership, mentioning that he had several candidates in mind for a “good leader.”

President Trump has dismissed claims of Russian assistance to Iran during U.S.-Israeli military operations. The situation escalated with recent attacks on Iran and statements from international leaders regarding regional stability.
