Ukrainian Forces Report 56 Russian Attacks Amid Ongoing Frontline Clashes

As of 16:00 on March 6, the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported 56 attacks by Russian forces across various fronts. The most intense confrontations were noted in the Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, and Huliaipole areas.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Russian troops launched 14 offensive actions around the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Berestok, Rusyn Yar, and Sofiivka, with one clash still ongoing. Meanwhile, in the Pokrovsk direction, invaders attempted to displace Ukrainian forces 13 times in areas including Zatyshok, Chervonyi Lyman, Rodynske, Kotlyne, Udachne, Muravka, Molodetske, and Novopidhorodne, as well as towards Bilytske.

Additionally, 11 attacks occurred in the Huliaipole sector, particularly near Myrne and in the direction of Zaliznychne, Olenokostiantynivka, and Varvarivka. Ukrainian defense forces successfully repelled nine of these assaults. Russian forces also conducted airstrikes on the regions of Verkhnya Tersa, Huliaipilske, Hirke, and Charivne.

Combat operations continued across several other fronts, including the Northern Slobozhanskyi, Kursk, Southern Slobozhanskyi, Kupiansk, Lyman, Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Oleksandrivka, Orikhiv, and Prydniprovske directions.

According to the U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War, Ukrainian troops reclaimed more territory than they lost for the first time since the summer counteroffensive of 2023 during the last two weeks of February 2026.

In an interview with the Italian publication Corriere Della Sera on March 3, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that since the beginning of the year, Ukrainian forces have regained 460 square kilometers of territory. He emphasized that Ukraine is not losing the war and is seeking dialogue and peace.

On March 2, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that nine settlements had been liberated in the Oleksandrivka direction, adding that units of the Air Assault Forces are continuing active offensive operations.

Ukrainian forces reported significant clashes with Russian troops, including 56 attacks on March 6. President Zelenskyy noted territorial gains, emphasizing Ukraine's commitment to dialogue and peace.
