Russia Launches Coordinated Missile and Drone Strikes Across Ukraine

On the night of March 7, Russian forces executed a series of attacks on Ukraine, deploying 29 missiles, including ballistic types, and approximately 480 drones, predominantly of the Shahed model. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that these strikes targeted energy facilities in Kyiv and the regions of Khmelnytskyi and Chernivtsi, as well as railway infrastructure in Zhytomyr.

Damage from the attacks was also recorded in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Vinnytsia, Odesa, Poltava, Sumy, and Cherkasy regions. Emergency services are currently active in all affected areas to assess and address the damage.

In Kharkiv, rescue operations are underway at a residential building struck by a Russian ballistic missile. President Zelenskyy stated, “The entrance has been destroyed, and upper floors of a neighboring building have sustained damage. Unfortunately, as of now, it is known that seven people have died, including two children. More than ten individuals are injured, with some still potentially trapped under the rubble. All necessary services are on-site for rescue efforts.”

“These brutal attacks against life must receive a response from our partners,” Zelenskyy emphasized.

He expressed gratitude to those who continue to voice support, asserting that Russia has not abandoned its attempts to destroy Ukraine’s residential and critical infrastructure. He called for continued assistance, particularly through the PURL program, and highlighted the importance of active collaboration with the European Union to enhance protective measures for Ukrainian citizens.

In Kharkiv, the missile strike resulted in at least seven fatalities, including two children, as of 08:30. In Vinnytsia, significant damage was reported to energy and railway infrastructure due to a coordinated attack.

The Russian military targeted three districts in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast—Nikopol, Samara, and Synelnykove—resulting in one death and one injury, along with multiple fires. In Donetsk, Kramatorsk experienced at least three shelling incidents, leading to one death and six injuries.

In Odesa, strikes were reported on infrastructure, although there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage to residential buildings. In Sumy Oblast, attacks affected communities in the Sumy, Shostka, Okhtyrka, and Konotop districts, resulting in four injuries and damage to civilian structures and vehicles.

In Cherkasy, a residential building was destroyed during the night of March 6-7, with two others sustaining damage. Three individuals sought medical assistance.

During air raid alerts, explosions were heard on the outskirts of Novodnistrovsk in Bukovina, leading to a fire outside the city and a temporary loss of electricity within Novodnistrovsk, which has since been restored. In Chernihiv Oblast, Russian forces targeted energy facilities in two districts.

On March 7, Russia launched extensive missile and drone strikes across Ukraine, resulting in multiple casualties and significant infrastructure damage. President Zelenskyy called for continued international support in response to these attacks.
