Russian troops are actively attempting to breach the central area of Hryshyne, a village in the Donetsk region, employing simultaneous attacks from both the north and south.
Military sources report that the aggressors are focused on taking control of Hryshyne while also targeting the nearby towns of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. Ukrainian defense units are holding their ground on the northern outskirts of these locations.
In response to the enemy’s advances, Ukrainian forces are implementing a series of measures to counter the assaults. These include:
- Enhanced aerial reconnaissance to track enemy movements;
- Increased mining of potential advance routes;
- Blocking enemy logistics;
- Coordinated search-and-strike operations.
Ukrainian defenders are utilizing strike drones, artillery, and aviation, inflicting substantial losses on the invading forces.
The area under the command of the Eastern Operational Command remains one of the most intense fronts, with recent reports indicating that 347 enemy soldiers were lost in the past day alone. Additionally, Ukrainian forces have destroyed 1,539 drones of various types and have targeted or eliminated 121 units of enemy weapons and equipment.
Special attention is being given to neutralizing Russian drone operators, with 64 control points for UAVs reported as destroyed over the past day.
Hryshyne is part of the Pokrovsk community and is located less than 10 kilometers from Pokrovsk. Before the full-scale invasion by Russia, the village had a population of around 2,000 residents.
Ukrainian military officials have previously reported attempts by Russian units to penetrate the village. Notably, in late January, Russian forces launched a mechanized assault on Hryshyne, which was repelled by Ukrainian defenders, resulting in the destruction of enemy armored vehicles and personnel.
In early February, Ukrainian troops also managed to eliminate a self-propelled artillery unit belonging to Russian paratroopers, disrupting the enemy’s preparations for an assault on Hryshyne.
Currently, the village remains a critical objective for Russian forces in the Pokrovsk direction, as its capture would significantly hinder the logistics of Ukrainian defense operations.
Russian forces are intensifying their attacks on Hryshyne in the Donetsk region, launching assaults from multiple directions. Ukrainian defenders are actively countering these efforts, resulting in significant enemy losses.
