The U.S. Department of Defense has confirmed the identities of four American reservists who lost their lives during Operation ‘Epic Fury’ against Iran. The incident occurred on March 1, when a drone strike targeted a logistics facility in the port city of Shuayba, Kuwait.
The deceased servicemen were members of the 103rd Army Reserve Command, based in Des Moines, Iowa. They are:
- Captain Cody A. Hork, 35, from Winter Haven, Florida;
- Sergeant First Class Noah L. Titjens, 42, from Bellevue, Nebraska;
- Sergeant First Class Nicole M. Amor, 39, from White Bear Lake, Minnesota;
- Sergeant Declan J. Cody, 20, from West Des Moines, Iowa.
In the days leading up to this incident, former President Donald Trump did not rule out the possibility of deploying U.S. troops directly into Iran. By March 3, reports indicated that the total number of American military fatalities from the operation had risen to six. Trump warned that further casualties could be expected, stating that military actions against Iran might continue for up to four weeks.
This escalation in military engagement has raised questions about the effectiveness and long-term implications of U.S. operations in the region. Analysts have pointed out that previous attempts to change the Iranian regime through military means have not yielded the desired outcomes, despite ongoing calls for a more aggressive stance.
