Polish Foreign Minister Praises Economic Contributions of Ukrainian Immigrants

Poland’s Foreign Minister, Radosław Sikorski, has commended the significant economic impact of Ukrainian immigrants during a recent address in the Sejm. He reported that these immigrants have established over 120,000 companies in Poland, contributing to the country’s economy by paying taxes and creating jobs.

Sikorski highlighted that the level of professional activity among adult Ukrainian immigrants surpasses that of Polish citizens. Since 2022, the influx of Ukrainian entrepreneurs has not only bolstered local businesses but also enhanced trade relations between Poland and Ukraine.

Looking ahead, Sikorski expressed confidence that the role of Ukrainian immigrants will continue to grow in peacetime. He reiterated the importance of solidarity, stating, “For four years, we have demonstrated what the slogan ‘Polish solidarity’ means.”

Recent Developments for Ukrainian Refugees Abroad

In related news, Poland has recently enacted legislation that revokes special privileges for Ukrainian refugees. This new law aims to streamline the support system while ensuring the sustainability of public finances. However, it extends the legal residency of Ukrainian citizens who fled the war until March 4, 2027.

Additionally, reports indicate a rise in the number of employed Ukrainian refugees in Norway, marking a notable increase compared to the previous year.
