Weather Forecast: Cold Snap and Mixed Precipitation Expected in Ukraine

Ukraine is bracing for a brief cold snap on February 26 and 27, with the eastern and southeastern regions anticipating wet snow and rain. Additionally, icy conditions are expected on roads across most areas during the night and morning hours.

On February 26, wet snow and rain are forecasted for the eastern and southeastern parts of the country, with possible accumulation of wet snow in some areas. The Carpathians may see light snowfall overnight, while the rest of Ukraine is expected to remain dry.

Nighttime and morning temperatures will drop to between 1° and 6° below freezing in the western, northern, and central regions, with the Carpathians experiencing even colder temperatures ranging from 6° to 11° below zero. In contrast, daytime temperatures in Zakarpattia and Crimea are expected to rise to between 1° and 6° above zero.

In Kyiv, no precipitation is anticipated, though icy conditions may affect roads overnight and in the morning. Temperatures in the capital will hover around 3° to 5° below freezing at night, rising to near zero during the day.

On February 27, most of Ukraine will remain dry, with only Crimea possibly experiencing some wet snow and rain during the night. Icy conditions will persist on roads, except in the southern regions and Zakarpattia.

Nighttime temperatures will range from 2° to 8° below freezing, with the Carpathians seeing lows of 9° to 12° below zero. Daytime temperatures are expected to vary from 2° below freezing to 3° above, with the southern and extreme western regions reaching between 2° and 8° above zero, and Zakarpattia possibly hitting 10° above zero.

In the capital, no precipitation is expected on the second day, with nighttime temperatures around 3° to 5° below freezing and daytime highs between 1° and 3° above zero.

Ukraine is set to experience a cold snap with wet snow and rain in the east and southeast on February 26 and 27. Icy conditions will affect roads, particularly during the night and morning hours.
