Ukrainian Air Defense Responds to Coordinated Russian Attack

The Ukrainian Air Force has released footage showcasing its defensive efforts during a significant Russian assault on February 22, 2026. This attack targeted critical infrastructure across multiple regions in Ukraine.

According to military reports, the Russian forces launched a combined strike involving 345 aerial attack units. Ukrainian air defense successfully intercepted or suppressed 33 missiles and 274 drones during the operation.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that nearly 300 Russian drones and 50 missiles were aimed at various locations, including Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, and Sumy regions. The scale of the attack marks one of the largest coordinated efforts by Russian forces in recent months.

In the Kyiv region, the assault resulted in one fatality and injuries to 17 individuals, including four children. The ongoing conflict continues to pose significant risks to civilian safety as attacks on infrastructure escalate.

The Ukrainian Air Force has effectively countered a major Russian attack, intercepting numerous aerial threats. The assault resulted in civilian casualties, highlighting the ongoing dangers faced by the population amid the conflict.
