Russian Shelling Disrupts Utilities in Lozova, Ukraine

Russian military forces have targeted the Lozova community in the Kharkiv region, resulting in significant damage to essential infrastructure, including the largest heating plant and water supply facilities.

According to Lozova’s mayor, Serhiy Zelensky, the attack has left the primary heating plant without power, affecting nearly 16,000 subscribers who rely on it for warmth. The mayor emphasized the urgency of the situation, especially as temperatures remain below freezing.

In a statement on social media, Zelensky urged residents to refrain from interfering with internal building systems and noted that emergency response teams are working diligently to maintain service. He reported that critical infrastructure has sustained damage, leading to serious disruptions in water supply.

Municipal and energy workers are currently on-site attempting to restore services, but the mayor indicated that efforts to resume water delivery are ongoing and have not yet succeeded.

Russian shelling in Lozova has severely impacted vital heating and water services, prompting emergency measures from local authorities. The mayor has called for public cooperation as repair efforts continue amid freezing temperatures.
