Semen Gluzman, Renowned Psychiatrist and Human Rights Advocate, Passes Away at 79

Semen Gluzman, a prominent psychiatrist, human rights advocate, and former political prisoner, has died at the age of 79. His passing was confirmed by former Ukrainian parliament member Boryslav Bereza, who shared the news on Facebook.

Ukrainian MP Mykola Knyazhytsky also paid tribute, noting Gluzman’s strong character and ethical integrity. He recalled Gluzman’s assertion during Soviet times that General Grigorenko was mentally sound and a victim of repressive psychiatry. Knyazhytsky highlighted Gluzman’s own experiences as a prisoner alongside other notable figures, including Myroslav Marynovych, who were also recognized for their moral courage.
