On Sunday afternoon, Moscow’s Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported the interception of 13 drones targeting the city, while Bryansk Governor Alexander Bogomaz claimed that 120 drones had been shot down in his region.
At approximately 15:00 local time, Sobyanin announced the first drone interception, later confirming a total of 13 by 16:25. Emergency services were deployed to the sites where debris fell, as the situation unfolded.
According to state news agency RIA Novosti, temporary restrictions on aircraft operations were implemented at Domodedovo Airport but were subsequently lifted.
Governor Bogomaz indicated that the Bryansk region had been under a significant drone assault since early morning, with 120 drones reported destroyed.
The Russian Ministry of Defense previously stated that between 09:00 and 13:00 Moscow time, Russian air defense systems had successfully neutralized 102 Ukrainian drones over Bryansk, Kaluga, Tula, and Moscow regions, including three targeting Moscow.
Recent drone attacks have targeted both Moscow and the Bryansk region, with local authorities reporting significant interceptions. The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the destruction of numerous drones, indicating ongoing tensions in the area.
