In the early hours of February 15, Russian forces launched a significant aerial assault on Ukraine, deploying 83 strike drones from multiple directions. Ukrainian air defense units successfully intercepted 55 of these hostile drones.
According to military reports, the attack occurred between 18:30 on February 14 and the morning of February 15. The drones, identified as Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and others, were launched from various locations including Millerovo, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea.
Ukrainian defense forces employed a combination of aviation, anti-aircraft missile systems, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups to counter the assault. Initial assessments indicated that by 08:00, air defense had successfully downed or suppressed 55 drones of various types.
The attack resulted in 25 drones striking 12 different locations, with debris from the intercepted drones landing in three areas. Ukrainian air forces have continued to engage the remaining threats, urging civilians to adhere to safety protocols during the ongoing aerial assault.
