Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited a German drone manufacturing facility on February 13, 2026, as part of the Munich Security Conference, which runs until February 15. During his visit, he was accompanied by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and co-founders of Quantum Systems, Sven Kruk and Florian Seibel.
This visit marks the 1,451st day of Ukraine’s resistance against Russia’s full-scale invasion. Zelenskyy is leading the Ukrainian delegation at the conference, which has been officially announced in advance.
In other developments, a new round of trilateral peace talks is scheduled to take place in Geneva on February 17-18. Ukrainian presidential advisor for communications, Dmitro Lytvyn, confirmed that the Ukrainian delegation is preparing for these discussions, with President Zelenskyy having already defined its composition.
Additionally, Ukraine has imposed sanctions on 91 vessels linked to Russia’s so-called shadow fleet, as per a decree signed by President Zelenskyy. Meanwhile, the United Kingdom has announced its largest aid package to Ukraine, amounting to £500 million (over $680 million), aimed at bolstering air defense capabilities.
Germany is also set to provide Ukraine with five additional PAC-3 missile interceptors, contingent on other nations contributing 30 similar systems.
In a separate initiative, five children who were illegally deported by Russia during its occupation of Kherson have been returned to Ukraine. This was part of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative led by Maxim Maksymov, who expressed gratitude to all partners involved in the children’s return, particularly to U.S. First Lady Melania Trump for her concern over the plight of Ukrainian children.
Three of the returned children, aged 4, 6, and 7, were previously in a children’s home in Kherson. They were abducted by Russian forces in the fall of 2022 and taken to a children’s home in Simferopol, Crimea. The initiative emphasizes that Ukraine does not abduct or hold Russian children, and the return of Ukrainian children is a matter of international law.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has successfully brought back a total of 1,990 children.
Regarding the upcoming Geneva talks, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, confirmed that the Ukrainian delegation has already begun preparations. The team includes key figures such as Kyrylo Budanov, Andriy Hnatov, Davyd Arakhamia, Serhiy Kyslytsya, and Vadym Skibitsky, all selected for their military, political, and security expertise.
Umerov reiterated the goal of achieving a sustainable and lasting peace during these negotiations.
