Ukraine Extends Electricity Tariff for Households Until 2026

The Ukrainian government has decided to maintain the current electricity tariff of 4.32 UAH per kWh for residential consumers until October 31, 2026. This announcement was made by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

Svyrydenko emphasized that this decision ensures that electricity prices for the population will remain unchanged. The government aims to support consumers who rely on electricity as their primary heating source, particularly in homes and apartments with electric heating systems, as well as multi-apartment buildings not connected to gas supply or centralized heating systems.

From October 1 to April 30, a special reduced tariff of 2.64 UAH per kWh will be available for those consuming up to 2,000 kWh per month. For consumption exceeding this limit, the standard rate of 4.32 UAH per kWh will apply, according to Svyrydenko.

On January 16, the government classified multi-apartment buildings using electric heating as critical infrastructure. This classification means that these buildings will not face power outages except in emergency situations. Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal made this statement amid increasing electricity outages during cold weather, following extensive missile attacks.

The Ukrainian government has confirmed the continuation of the current electricity tariff for households until 2026, introducing a reduced rate for winter months. This move aims to support residents relying on electric heating amid ongoing energy challenges.
