Power Outages Hit Kyiv’s Left Bank Due to Emergency Situation

An emergency situation has arisen on the left bank of Kyiv, leading to power and water supply disruptions, according to the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA).

The KCSA reported that energy workers are currently addressing the damage to the electrical network. Meanwhile, DTEK, the energy provider, has indicated that power restoration is expected by 2:21 AM, although this timeline is subject to change.

Public transport has also been affected, with delays reported for several trams and trolleybuses due to a lack of power in the overhead lines. Kyivpastrans announced that tram services on routes 8, 22, 27, 28, 29, 32, 33, and 35, as well as trolleybus routes 29, 30, 31, 37, 43, 44, 47, 50, and 50k, are experiencing interruptions.

In a related context, President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation in a video message on March 1, stating that Ukraine has endured one of the most challenging winters since the onset of the war. He expressed gratitude to military personnel, energy workers, and other services for their efforts during this difficult period, while cautioning that Russian attacks are ongoing.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in February 2022, Russia has targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. The frequency of these attacks has intensified since the onset of the autumn season in 2025.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) categorizes these assaults on energy facilities as crimes against humanity. The SBU has documented at least 256 aerial attacks on energy and heating systems since the start of this heating season.

Kyiv's left bank is facing power and water supply disruptions due to an emergency situation in the electrical network. Public transport is also affected, with multiple routes experiencing delays. President Zelensky emphasized the ongoing threat from Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
