Massive Russian Attack on Kyiv Claims 22 Lives, Including Three Children

A devastating Russian assault on Kyiv during the night of May 14 resulted in the deaths of 22 individuals, including three children. Rescue teams are actively working to clear debris from a building in the city’s Darniцьkyi district.

Currently, 20 people are reported missing. This attack is noted as one of the most significant since the onset of the full-scale war.

Details of the Attack

Between May 13 and 14, Russian forces launched a large-scale combined strike, deploying a total of 1,567 drones and 56 missiles. Ukrainian air defense systems successfully intercepted 94% of the drones and 73% of the missiles. The Ukrainian Air Force stated that the enemy utilized its entire arsenal of aerial assault capabilities.

In total, 56 missiles and 675 drones targeted Kyiv, leading to widespread destruction across the capital, Kyiv region, and several other areas.

Threats to Nuclear Power Plants

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported that over 160 drones were detected flying over the South Ukraine, Rivne, and Chernobyl nuclear power plants during the attack.

A severe Russian attack on Kyiv has resulted in significant casualties and widespread destruction. The incident highlights ongoing threats to civilian safety and critical infrastructure amid the ongoing conflict.
