Starting at 16:00 and continuing until the end of the day, Ukraine will enforce power limitation schedules across all regions for industrial consumers. This decision, announced by the national energy company Ukrenergo, comes as part of ongoing efforts to manage energy consumption effectively.
Ukrenergo reported a 7.9% decrease in electricity consumption compared to Friday, April 10. The reduction is attributed to clear weather conditions in most parts of Ukraine, which have enhanced the performance of residential solar power systems and decreased reliance on the national grid.
In the announcement, Ukrenergo stated, “Due to the consequences of previous mass drone attacks, power limitation schedules will be enforced for industrial consumers from 16:00 until the end of the day across all regions of Ukraine.” The company urged consumers to practice energy conservation during evening hours, advising against the simultaneous use of multiple high-power devices during this period.
Impact of Attacks
According to Ukrenergo, Russia has resumed drone attacks targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. As a result of these assaults, consumers in the Zaporizhzhia and Chernihiv regions are currently experiencing power outages. Emergency restoration efforts have already commenced to address the disruptions.
Ukraine has initiated power restrictions for industrial consumers in response to decreased electricity consumption and ongoing drone attacks on energy infrastructure. The measures aim to manage energy resources effectively amid recent assaults that have resulted in power outages in specific regions.
