Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Russia plans to establish four drone control stations in Belarus. This announcement comes amid ongoing concerns regarding military activities in the region.
In a recent address, Zelensky emphasized, “We have clear information that Russia is planning further deployment of ground-based long-range drone control stations both in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and in four locations within Belarus.” He has instructed Oleksandr Ivashchenko, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, to inform Ukraine’s partners and media representatives about the data that can be disclosed.
The role of Belarus in the conflict has been a focal point for Ukrainian authorities. Ukrainian hackers have reportedly monitored Russian drone operators for over six months, gathering evidence of Belarusian territory being utilized for attacks against Ukraine.
In late February, Zelensky hinted at operations aimed at dismantling facilities supporting Iranian-made Shahed drones within Belarus. These drones have been employed by Russia in its military operations against Ukraine.
