Ukrainian Businessman Ihor Kolomoisky Remains in Custody Until May 1

The Podil District Court in Kyiv has ordered businessman Ihor Kolomoisky to remain in custody for an additional 60 days, with bail set at 1.1 billion UAH. This decision was made during a court session on March 3, as reported by local media.

Judge Oksana Sokolova denied Kolomoisky’s request to change his preventive measure from custody to personal obligation. In her ruling, she stated, “The application by Ihor Valeriyovych Kolomoisky to change the preventive measure from bail to personal obligation is denied. The preventive measure for Kolomoisky, born February 17, 1963, is changed from bail to detention for a period of 60 days until May 1, 2026, inclusive.”

Additionally, the judge adjusted the bail amount, reducing it from 1.827 billion UAH to 1.108 billion UAH, which corresponds to 333 thousand minimum living wages.

This case has undergone significant changes throughout the investigation, with the charges being modified three times. However, it remains the only case that has been forwarded to court for substantive hearings. During the recent session, prosecutors from the Office of the General Prosecutor requested the change in preventive measures based on purported new evidence, while Kolomoisky’s defense sought a less severe measure.

Ihor Kolomoisky will remain in detention until May 1, 2026, after a Kyiv court denied his request to change his preventive measures. The bail amount has been reduced significantly, reflecting ongoing legal proceedings.
