UFC Fight Night 239 play-by-play and live results

March 16, 2024 8:43 pm ET LAS VEGAS – UFC Fight Night 239 takes place Saturday, and you can join us for live play-by-play and official results. LAS VEGAS – UFC Fight Night 239 takes place Saturday, and you can join us for live play-by-play and official results. UFC Fight Night 239 (ESPN+) takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

In the main event, Tai Tuivasa (15-6 MMA, 8-6 UFC) takes on Marcin Tybura (24-8 MMA, 11-7 UFC) at heavyweight. In the co-feature, Bryan Battle (11-2 MMA, 5-1 UFC) meets Ange Loosa (10-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) at welterweight.

Chad Anheliger vs. Charalampos Grigoriou

Round 1 – The two trade leg kicks. Oh! They start swinging wild right off the bat. Both keep trading big leg kicks. Anheliger making Grigoriou limp already from the leg kicks. Grigoriou misses a spinning back fist, gets tied up, and then presses against the cage. Three minutes left. Anheliger trying to bring the fight to the ground, but Grigoriou is defending well. Two minutes left. Grigoriou reverses the position and takes down Anheliger. Not much damage, just control from Grigoriou. He maintains the position until the bell.

Round 2 – Leg kick from Anheliger. Grigoriou shoots and presses Anheliger against the cage. Grigoriou gets the takedown. Anheliger gets back up, but still being controlled against the cage. Big elbows by Anheliger. Grigoriou controlling against the cage and working for the takedown, but Anheliger non-stop hitting him with short shots. After almost three minutes, the referee breaks the action. Leg kick from Anheliger. One minute left. Grigoriou looks spent. Good jabs by Anheliger. Grigoriou shoots and presses Anheliger against the cage. Again, Grigoriou just holding while taking shots. The bell rings.

Round 3 – Anheliger comes out pressuring with strikes. Good combo by Anheliger! Body shots by Anheliger. Grigoriou is just standing there. A clash of heads stops the fight. Grigoriou doesn’t seem OK. After a minute, the fight resumes. Leg kick by Anheliger. Jabs by Anheliger. He’s outworking Grigoriou right now. Oh! Big right hand from Anheliger wobbles Grigoriou. Two minutes left. Anheliger is picking apart Grigoriou, who’s exhausted. Leg kick from Anheliger. Clean combos by Anheliger. He’s just having his way. There’s no offense coming from Grigoriou. The bell rings.

Thiago Moises vs. Mitch Ramirez

Round 1 – Moises shoots for an early takedown and gets it. Ramirez recovers to guard, but not for long, as Moises passes to half guard. Good elbows by Moises. Good control here by Moises. Moises takes the back and sinks in a rear-naked choke! It looks tight! Ramirez gets out! One minute left. Moises is looking to set that up again. Moises controls the back until the bell.

Round 2 – Ramirez immediately closes the distance and presses Moises against the cage. Moises then reverses him, and it’s him who now presses Ramirez. Ramirez breaks away and moves to the center of the octagon. Perfect double leg from Moises! Ramirez finds his way back to his feet, but is now being presses against the cage. Back to striking now. A couple of good shots connect for Ramirez. He closes the distance, but then Moises reverses the position and presses him against the cage. Back to striking. Left hook connects for Moises!  Good shot selection from Moises! The bell rings.

Round 3 – Huge leg kicks from Moises! Ramirez srops to the canvas! More kicks to the legs from Moises! It’s over!

Josh Culibao vs. Danny Silva

Round 1 – Oh! Big uppercut drops Culibao! Silva sinks in a one-arm guillotine and then gets top position! Culibao gets out, but Silva maintains top position! Crazy start to the fight. They’re back to the feet. Oh! Big one, two by Silva! What a chin on Culibao. Left hook lands for Culibao. Three minutes left. Culibao now making up for some lost ground, landing a few good combos here. Good body shot by Culibao. Another one. Good combo by Culibao. Silva looks to be slowing down. One minute left. Silva get a takedown in the final seconds, but doesn’t do much with it. The bell rings.

Round 2 – Good jabs here by Culibao. Leg kick by Culibao. Nasty body shot by Culibao. Silva is chasing Culibao, but he’s having a tough time connecting. Silva closes the distance and presses Culibao against the cage. Culibao defending well the takedown, but being controlled. Culibao breaks free and the fight is back standing. Good combo by Culibao. Oh! Big right by Silva. Silva again presses Culibao against the cage and takes him down. Culibao back up, but being controlled against the cage. The bell rings.

Round 3 – Silva immediately closes the distance and presses Culibao against the cage. Culibao breaks free shortly after. Hood jabs by Culibao. Leg kick by Silva. Oh! Big right from Silva. Silva with another right hand, and then he takes down Culibao. Culibao gets back up, but he’s being presses against the cage. He breaks free. Good jabs by Culibao. Two minutes left. Big uppercut by Silva! Nice jab by Silva. Silva is walking down Culibao.  What a fight. Culibao shoots for a takedown, comes up short, and Silva gets a front headlock. The bell rings.

Round 1 – Both fighters being very tentative. Osbourne is looking for that big shot, while Filho is staying patient on the outside. Filho shoots and takes down Osbourne. He now moves to his back. Good shots from top by Filho. Filho half way has Osbourne’s back. He flattens him out now! Osbourne gives up the mount! Couple of shots land for Filho. Non-stop ground-and-pound by Filho! He sinks in the rear-naked choke! There’s the tap! It’s over.

They break free and are back to standing. Right hand connects for Nunes. Three minutes left. Chandler closes the distance and gets a takedown. Oh! Armbar attempt by Nunes! Chandler slams her way out! Chandler back in Nunes guard. Good ground-and-pound from Chandler! Nunes kicks her off, and they’re back to striking. The bell rings.

Round 2 – Good shots from Chandler ere! Chandler gets the takedown and mount Nunes. Nunes recovers half guard. Chandler is bleeding from her nose. Chandler now gets the back of Nunes! Levy scrambles his way out! One minute left. Good knee to the body from Levy, as he controls Davis against the cage. Oh! Davis dives for a leg lock! The bell rings.

Round 2 – Levy slips on a kick and they scramble! Davis gets top position, and now he smoothly takes the back of Levy. Good shots from Davis. Davis now locks up an arm-triangle! There’s the tap!

Meerschaert shoots and takes down Barberena. Barberena works his way back up and the fight resumes on the feet. Two minutes left. Solid one, two by Barberena. Good hook by Meerschaert. Meerschaert shoots and gets the takedown. Meerschaert moves to side control and looks to work the kimura. He has it locked! Thirty seconds left! Barberena breaks free. Amzing grappling by Dulgarian. Rodriguez is bleeding from his right eye. Dulgarian takes the back and begins to drop ground-and-pound. Dulgarian sinks in the arm-triangle! It looks tight! Rodriguez gets out. One minute left. Dulgarian all over Rodriguez. Dulgarian controls Rodriguez until the bell.
