Ukrainian President Awards Medal to Military Spokesperson on Invasion Anniversary

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has awarded the Order of Princess Olga, Third Class, to Iryna Rybakova, the spokesperson for the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade “Kholodny Yar” of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. This recognition comes on the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The presidential decree, numbered 136/2026, was signed on February 24, 2024, coinciding with a day of remembrance for those affected by the ongoing conflict. In addition to Rybakova, various individuals from fields such as culture, education, sports, healthcare, and volunteerism were also honored, with some receiving posthumous awards.

Rybakova’s contributions to military communications have been acknowledged previously; in 2024, she was recognized as the best press officer by the U-100 award. This accolade highlights her role in effectively conveying military operations and updates to the public during a challenging period for Ukraine.

The awarding of state honors is part of a broader initiative by the Ukrainian government to recognize the efforts of those who have contributed to the country’s resilience and response to the ongoing conflict. The ceremony serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by military personnel and civilians alike during these tumultuous years.
