Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently received a briefing from Rustem Umerov, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, regarding the initial outcomes of the Ukrainian delegation’s visit to the Middle East and the Gulf region.
Zelensky emphasized the need to finalize several new security agreements, stating, “We are preparing the groundwork for deeper security arrangements in Europe, and we expect to achieve results this week. I have instructed the Secretary of the NSDC to finalize drafts of several new security agreements and prepare them for signing.”
Currently, Ukraine is engaged in security discussions with various countries, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Turkey, Syria, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain, and has expressed interest in collaborating with Iraq.
Additionally, discussions with Umerov included the potential for cooperation with nations in the Caucasus, as well as those in East and Southeast Asia and Africa.
In a related development, Deputy Secretary of the NSDC David Aloyan informed reporters that over 200 Ukrainian experts are currently deployed across five Gulf countries to assist local partners, with no specific time frame set for their stay.
