Drone Strike Hits Residential Building in Kryvyi Rih, Injures One

A drone strike occurred in Kryvyi Rih on the night of February 26, targeting a five-story residential building. The attack resulted in a fire and left one person injured.

According to Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council, the incident involved a “Shahed” drone, which caused significant damage, including shattered windows and structural impairment. Emergency services are currently on-site to assist those affected.

Vilkul noted that a support center is being established near the damaged building, with construction materials expected to arrive shortly.

Oleksandr Hanža, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, confirmed that the injured individual is an 89-year-old man, who is receiving necessary medical care.

This incident follows a series of recent drone attacks on Kryvyi Rih, which have previously damaged a single-story building and two cars. Notably, on January 22, Russian forces launched an extensive assault on the city, utilizing missiles and drones for over ten hours, targeting residential areas and critical infrastructure.

The ongoing attacks have raised concerns about the safety of civilians, as strikes have increasingly focused on homes, schools, and social institutions.

A drone strike in Kryvyi Rih on February 26 injured an elderly man and caused significant damage to a residential building. This incident is part of a troubling pattern of attacks on civilian infrastructure in the area.
