The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umyerov, together with the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrsky, met in Kyiv with a delegation of committee heads of the European Parliament.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine informs about this.

Rustem Umyerov emphasized the great importance of the European Parliament and the European Union’s assistance to Ukraine to resist Russian aggression.

According to him, the intention to increase the amount of aid is of great importance for both military and civilian citizens and Ukrainian infrastructure.

Rustem Umyerov and Oleksandr Syrsky informed the European delegation about the current situation at the front.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces said that the priority needs of the Security Forces are air defense systems, missiles for them, artillery systems and ammunition, as well as long-range firearms.

He noted the importance of continuing the training of the Ukrainian military within the framework of the EU mission.

Rustem Umerov also called on the EU to strengthen sanctions against those who try to circumvent them, in particular, supplying spare parts for Russian military vehicles.

“We in Europe must be united in the fight against Russian aggression. We must be one strong fist against the threat of barbarians,” said the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

For his part, the head of the foreign affairs committee of the European Parliament, David McAllister, said that the visit of several heads of the European Parliament committees to Ukraine at once is a signal of the unwavering all-party support of Ukraine by the European Parliament in the fight against Russian aggression.

“We appreciate the courage of the Ukrainian military. We will continue to support you and demand that you give Ukraine what you really need,” he said.

As ArmyInform reported, the Ministry of Defense prevented the inefficient expenditure of almost 6.5 million hryvnias.
