Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has issued a warning regarding a possible large-scale military strike by Russian forces, anticipated to occur on the night of March 24. In a recent video address, he urged citizens to remain vigilant and heed air raid alerts.
Zelensky stated, “Please pay attention to the alarm signals today. Intelligence has indicated that the Russians may be preparing a massive strike. Our air defense measures have been put in place. Please take care of yourselves and of Ukraine.” This warning comes as Russian military operations continue to target various Ukrainian cities and infrastructure.
Reports indicate that Russian forces have been utilizing a range of weaponry, including drones, missiles, and multiple launch rocket systems, to conduct attacks across all regions of Ukraine. The Ukrainian government, along with international organizations, has classified these strikes as war crimes, emphasizing their deliberate nature.
Attacks on critical infrastructure, such as energy systems and healthcare facilities, are viewed as attempts to deprive civilians of essential services including electricity, heating, water supply, communication, and medical assistance. Such actions have raised concerns about potential genocidal intent.
In response to these claims, Russian officials have denied that their military is intentionally targeting civilian infrastructure. They assert that their operations are focused on military objectives and do not aim to harm the civilian population or destroy essential services.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has alerted citizens to a potential large-scale Russian military strike, urging caution and readiness. This warning follows ongoing attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure, which the government and international bodies classify as war crimes.
