Ukrainian President Warns of Possible Large-Scale Missile and Drone Attacks from Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has issued a warning regarding potential large-scale missile and drone strikes from Russia, urging citizens to remain vigilant in response to air raid alerts.

In a statement made on March 23, Zelensky emphasized the need for heightened awareness, citing intelligence reports indicating that Russian forces may be preparing for a significant offensive. “Today, pay attention to the alarm signals. There is information from intelligence that the Russians may be planning a massive strike. Our air defense directives have already been issued,” he stated.

The president also addressed the ongoing support from Belarus to Russia in the conflict, highlighting that there would be “significant responses” to this collaboration. He noted that Belarus has previously facilitated Russian attacks by allowing the installation of equipment on its territory to support drone strikes against Ukraine.

“There have been instances where specialized equipment was set up in Belarus to aid the ‘Shahed’ attacks against Kyiv and our northern regions along the Belarus border. Unfortunately, this intensified Russian strikes. However, we acted and eliminated the corresponding antennas. Now, our intelligence indicates that Russia plans to continue using Belarusian territory, as well as temporarily occupied areas of Ukraine, to establish ground control stations for long-range drones,” Zelensky explained.

Additionally, Zelensky mentioned that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has successfully thwarted crimes within the country. “We cannot publicly disclose details at this time, but I am grateful to the SBU for protecting our people,” he added.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned of potential missile and drone attacks from Russia, urging citizens to heed air raid alerts. He also criticized Belarus for its support of Russian military operations, while acknowledging the efforts of Ukraine's security services in preventing crimes.
