Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on February 15 that the country anticipates new military aid packages from its allies after discussions held at the Munich Security Conference. He emphasized that missiles for air defense systems remain a top priority due to ongoing Russian attacks.
During his address, Zelensky described the meetings he attended as “very productive,” resulting in agreements to supply weapons to support Ukraine’s defense efforts. He stated,
“The main issue is missiles for air defense, to protect against ballistic threats. This has been the number one concern throughout this winter, as you know. We discussed this in Munich with every leader who can genuinely assist us. We also spoke with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. We hope the agreements will work as intended. Air defense is a daily necessity,”
he said.
On February 12, during a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the ‘Ramstein’ format, partners announced new support packages for the Ukrainian Armed Forces totaling nearly $38 billion. A significant portion of these funds will be allocated to air defense and the development of drone technology.
